First, I inquired a bit about this restaurant, frankly surprised that some of the recessions were so negative about service and prices. Normally my friends would not recommend a visit to a locality where the service is not right - which then sparked my interest in the brasserie in addition - I wanted to know how reliable the comments found really are. Another reason to visit the brasserie was that I was told there would be excellent home-made bread as well as very delicious mussels in a variety of variations - which fits together ... 😊 From the main road to the restaurant it's a bit down-hill, but if you get one of the four parking lots you can drive directly in front fo the restaurant - of course the visit is also possible from the beach side. I recommend everyone to reserve in advance, because the restaurant is well visited. The ambience is very attractive and the guest room to the bay laid out open, the part directly to the beach is a bar area, where you can also dine - the view of the bay is a real highlight. The service was always very courteous and attentive. With the Brasserie Alaine the friendly “CEO” & his wife Lin have established, one of the most interesting restaurants in the area. That Alaine originally comes from Belgium, you can taste especially from the excellent French fries and the bread. As a starter I had a salad with gratinated goat cheese, this was handcrafted well and tasted very delicious. My wife ate a Yam Wun Sen Talee (glass noodle salad with seafood), a serving of spring rolls, and a pad of Kapao Muh Sab - according to her feedback, these Thai dishes were authentic and tasty. The kids had spaghetti carbonara - and I do not mean noodles drowned in cream like some Italians in Germany do - but noodles with good bacon, egg & pecorino. For the main course we all had the shells, with our choice on the "Mussels Diabolos" and "Mussels Thai Style" - both came in smart enamelled pots on the table - the lid was intended for the shells. We could choose from the origin of the mussels whether we wanted to have imported from Holland or from Australia - of course we tested both varieties. The Australians were bigger and had more meat - from Holland, however, more flavour ... as it always is - in each case, both forms of preparation were extremely delicious and with the good bread double. Finally, we enjoyed crème brûlée - the consistency was fabulous, the sugar crust fine and crisp and the accompanying strawberries tasted as they should - so also a highlight in terms of appearance and taste. Regarding the prices, I found the bill for the offered quality of the partially imported ingredients quite adequate - of course no comparison to Thai around the corner, but also a completely different kind of culinary enjoyment ... Despite all the different recommendations I can only speak for myself - many thanks for the culinary successful afternoon, we will visit the Brasserie again.
