We tried several restaurants but mama piyawanswas is really the best! Very fair prices and every dish is freshly cooked. A little hard to find in a side alley but it's worth it! There is really no better place on koh tao.

Had the cashew and chicken stir fry with rice, they offer tofu and vegetables to substitute if you want, price was cheap and so far best thing I’ve tried on this trip!! Lots of flavour. Servings are large, so one meal was perfect. New fave place, will be back to try more

We were quite late and they were about to close, but when we asked for food they were happy to help and serve us! Having dinner at this place was our best decision as the food was really tasty and the service was authentic. They made everything possible for us! I missed to take a picture of my pad thai, but it was just too tasty to stop eating 😊 Looking for a great Thai food experience, go for this place!

We were also very happy initially with the overflowing portions of very tasty shakes. However, our enthusiasm quickly turned when we realized there are barely any vegetarian dishes. Even the mixed veggies are cooked in oyster sauce. I ended up choosing a shrimp pad thai and stressed many times that I don’t want chicken, only shrimp. Nevertheless, the food arrived with both chicken and shrimp. We offered to take (and pay for) the wrong order but asked for another without chicken but mama was unwilling to make another one. Surely, this is just a miscommunication issue but I saw everyone else around us struggle with conveying that they don’t want meat. So if you decide to try the food but have specific dietary requirements come prepared with thai translation.
