(ต้นฉบับ) This is some of the best Thai food my wife and I have ever had. It’s so good that we had to leave a review for this amazing restaurant on Koh Phayam. We can confidently recommend how good Nok’s Real Thai is as we ate here for dinner 5 nights in a row. (And we have never done anything like that at any restaurant). Literally everything is made from scratch in this restaurant. The menu is massive, with something for everyone. It was also one of the few restaurants open during low season as well, located right next to the ferry pier and Oscar’s Bar, right on the water and the beach. This is indeed “real Thai food” and a real down home Thai place with amazing food and service by the Owner, Nok. And another kicker? The prices are about half that of most resorts on the island. How can a place be half the price but twice as good? We can’t say, all we can say is just go. We had and can 1,000% recommend all of the following items from our 5 dinners: Fried Vegetable Spring Rolls Red Curry Chicken (spicy, woo!) Pad Prik Sod Chicken (also spicy) Chicken Satay “Deep Fried” Chicken Pad See Ew Shrimp Pasta Napolitano Pad Keep Mao Pork Khao Pad Pork (Thai Fried Rice) Gang Jued Pork (Thai clear soup) Pad Thai Chicken Pad Kratiem Prik Thai Chicken (garlic and pepper) Every, single, item was OUTSTANDING. When we say home made and from scratch, we mean it, and you can literally watch them prepare it (from across the street) from scratch after you order it. The spring rolls, you’ll probably want to get those every single night. They are huge, home made, pan fried, and amazing. Stuffed with every vegetable imaginable. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to eat Jack in the Box egg rolls ever again back in the states (thanks for ruining that Nok! Ha). Every noodle dish, every rice dish, chicken, pork, shrimp, beef, even stinking pasta (how was pasta that good at a hole in the wall Thai place?) doesn’t matter, every combination is and was good. A final food standout worth the mention is the Gang Jued Pork (Thai clear soup). We didn’t order that as an appetizer until the second to the last night. It’s one of the best things we’ve ever tasted, so much so that my wife made us get two bowls the last night. Nok is very kind, speaks English well, and my goodness can she cook up a storm! If you go at night, try to snag a beach front table, then watch the crab show below. Dozens of crabs start coming out, trying to get in each other’s holes, running around, fighting and going crazy. It’s hilarious to watch and adds to the character of Nok’s place and Koh Phayam as a whole. Basically, what we are saying is you would be absolutely crazy not to try this place. We are going to miss it on the rest of our Thailand trip for sure. Thanks again for all of the incredibly delicious meals and warm hospitality Nok!
